A homicide investigation is underway in Northwest after a fatal shooting rocked the unit block of Ridge Square yesterday morning. According to a statement by the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident took place at approximately 2:31 a.m., where police discovered a male victim inside an apartment, succumbing to gunshot wounds.
The victim has been identified as 32-year-old Terell Cortez West, hailing from Northeast, DC. Tragically, DC Fire and EMS units responding to the call pronounced him dead at the scene. In a grim twist, an adult female also became a victim, assaulted with a weapon during the same incident; her injuries thankfully were minor and treated on location.
Initial findings suggest that the violence stemmed from a domestic dispute, casting a shadow on the complexities of personal conflicts that spill into public tragedy.
