A fire that erupted in a Pearl City building was promptly extinguished by the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) yesterday. HFD was alerted to the blaze at a self-storage unit located at 98-726 Kuahao Place, arriving within minutes to tackle the situation. The fire, confined to one unit on the second floor, was reported through a 911 call received at 11:42 a.m., according to an official statement from the Honolulu Fire Department.
Upon their 11:48 a.m. arrival, firefighters quickly secured a water source, and, began an aggressive attack to contain the flames. They also swept through the structure to ensure that no individuals were trapped or in harm's way. Their swift action brought the fire under control by 12:01 p.m. and had it fully extinguished by 12:14 p.m.
The HFD has since launched an investigation to identify the cause of the fire and to assess the extent of the damage caused by the incident. Details on the findings will be shared upon the completion of the investigation. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
