Authorities are actively seeking a suspect connected to the ruthless murder of Kenia Guardado-Molina, a 27-year-old woman whose life was abruptly ended last October. According to a news release from the City of Houston, 26-year-old Camilo Ayala is facing murder charges in connection with the death of Guardado-Molina, whose body was tragically discovered at her residence on Forum Park Drive by worried family members reluctant to accept her sudden silence and absence.
The search for Ayala is ongoing, with law enforcement issuing a plea to the public for help in tracking down the man accused of not only taking a life but also perpetrating a sexual assault earlier in the year. Ayala's photograph has been disseminated in hopes that someone might recognize him and report his whereabouts to authorities. "Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Camilo Ayala, or in this case, is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS," as stated in the city's press release.
Investigators assigned to the case, Sergeant M. Holbrook and Detective R. Lujan, have pieced together a timeline indicating that the victim's family grew increasingly concerned after Guardado-Molina missed picking up her child from the babysitter, a deviation from her usual routine that precipitated the grim discovery of her lifeless body bearing the mark of at least one gunshot wound.
This is not Ayala's first contact with law enforcement; he was also charged with the sexual assault on June 14, 2024. Authorities have urged the public not to approach Ayala if they encounter him, but instead to immediately contact law enforcement.
