
Early Thursday morning, a serious apartment fire broke out in southwest Houston, injuring a resident and a firefighter. The Houston Fire Department responded to the 2-alarm blaze near Main Street on S Bartell and Hearth Drive around 6 a.m. Four apartments were destroyed, and others suffered smoke and water damage, according to Click2Houston.
A resident jumped from their balcony while trying to escape a fire and was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. A firefighter also suffered a minor leg injury. Firefighters are working to control the flames, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The American Red Cross is helping those displaced by the fire, as stated by Click2Houston.
Near NRG Stadium, a fire at an apartment complex led to the rescue of four people, with one firefighter and a resident hospitalized. The Houston Fire Department shared updates on social media, but the conditions of the hospitalized individuals and the fire's cause remain unclear, as reported by KHOU.
