On New Year's Day, around 6:25 a.m., a house on Stedman St. in the Denver Harbor/Port Houston area caught fire, causing major damage. Fortunately, no one was injured. The Houston Fire Department responded and managed to control the blaze, which caused about $160,000 in damage.
Firefighters quickly used a defensive strategy to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings. Once it was safe, they switched to an interior attack to put out the fire completely. Investigators later found that the fire started accidentally due to an electrical problem, as reported by the Houston Fire Department.
A quick response from 42 Houston Fire Department personnel, including units from Stations 41, 23, 20, 45, 27, 42, 30, and Rescue 42, helped contain a fire caused by an electrical fault in Denver Harbor. The firefighters' quick response limited damage and kept residents safe.
