Residents of the Brays Oaks area were given a stark reminder of the dangers that can lurk in the comforts of home, as a townhome fire broke out late in the evening last week. Last Sunday, at around 10:35 p.m., the Houston Fire Department responded to a blaze that erupted in the 12200 block of Bob White Dr. While it's a relief to report no injuries, the fire still managed to inflict an approximate $30,000 worth of damage to the property.
According to an official statement from the HFD, firefighters arrived promptly to find the townhouse in flame's grip. They quickly set to work, launching an offensive attack to wrestle the fire under control and successfully extinguished the conflagration located in the attic. Upon arrival, the teams didn't hesitate to thoroughly search the residence, confirming that all occupants had already made it to safety outside the home.
The incident required a significant presence from the fire department, with 46 personnel responding to the emergency call. This included support from Stations 68, 82, 59, 48, 80, 21, Heavy Rescue 11, and Rescue 10. Their efforts were not in vain, as they managed to save an estimated $120,000 in property from being consumed by the blaze. The cause of the fire found to have been unintentional with an electrical source at its origin.
