
Early on New Year's Day, a fire broke out in a church garage/office space located in the South Belt/Ellington area of Houston. According to an official report from the Houston Fire Department, a call was received at 3:44 a.m. on Wednesday, about the incident which occurred at 10010 Galveston Rd. Houston, TX 77034. Firefighters were faced with heavy fire emanating from the detached structure upon arrival at the scene.
No injuries have been reported. Firefighters led an attack on the fire, pulled the ceiling to stop it from spreading, and checked for any extension. They ventilated the building, conducted a primary search, and extinguished the flames before calling arson investigators to determine the cause.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. As of now, details regarding the extent of property damage and the value of property saved from the blaze have not been made public knowledge.
A significant number of personnel responded to this emergency, with 51 firefighters from various stations, including Stations 52, 23, 70, 71, 26, 29, 40, 61, 93, 24, and Rescue 42, descending on the site to combat the fire. They received a request for HFD Arson investigators to determine both the cause and the origin of this blaze.
