Popular YouTuber Corey Pritchett Jr. is currently held in custody on charges of aggravated kidnapping after an alarming incident involving the alleged abduction of two women in Houston. The case has resonated throughout social media, where Pritchett boasts a significant following. According to Click2Houston, after initially fleeing the country, Pritchett was arrested and booked with a $100,000 bond, and his next appearance in court is scheduled for tomorrow.
The arrest follows events that began on November 23, 2024, when Pritchett allegedly coerced two women into his car at gunpoint and threatened their lives. Having met one of the victims previously, Pritchett met up with them for what seemed to be a day of leisure activities, but the situation rapidly escalated. KHOU reports that, after an unexplained altercation at a bowling alley, the two women were abandoned on the side of I-10 following a harrowing ordeal where Pritchett brandished a pistol and fired shots from his vehicle.
The narrative took an international turn when KHOU disclosed that Pritchett had abruptly left the United States. He reportedly broadcasted via social media his intentions to begin anew in Dubai, but not before buying a one-way ticket to Doha, Qatar, on December 9, 2024. Despite his attempts to disappear, authorities eventually apprehended Pritchett in Harris County on January 16, 2025.
Documents obtained during the investigation highlight the severity of the incident. Pritchett is said to have made a chilling remark during a phone call, stating he "had the perfect opportunity and was in the middle of nowhere where no one could hear them scream," as reported by Click2Houston. The kidnapper also confiscated the victims' phones while in flight, severing their final connection to possible assistance. Eventually, the victims were able to find solace after hours of walking and seeking help from passersby.
As Pritchett seeks legal counsel, opting for a public defender due to no reported income or assets, the victims' experience highlights the dangers behind digital personas. With the judicial process underway, attention will be on the upcoming hearing to see how justice addresses this blend of online fame and real-world harm.
