A man was left fighting for his life last Friday following an early morning shooting at an apartment located at 10250 Lands End Drive. In a recent development, the Houston Police Department has made an arrest in connection to the incident. The suspect, identified as 45-year-old Michael Green, is now facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to the original report released by the Houston Police Department and obtained by the City of Houston, police responded to a call around 4:35 a.m. and discovered the 42-year-old victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Though the suspect had fled before officers had arrived, emergency responders quickly transported the wounded man to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Evidence collected during the investigation pointed detectives to Green, who, according to HPD Major Assaults Division Detective P. Ungaro, was known to the victim prior to the shooting. "The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived," Detective Ungaro elaborated in the original press release, as reported by the City of Houston.
The break in the case came just days after the attack when law enforcement officials located and arrested Green last Sunday. A booking photo of the suspect, now charged for his role in the shooting, was also released in conjunction with the new information concerning the case.
