Corey Pritchett, a Houston-based YouTuber, is currently facing serious legal trouble after being charged with aggravated kidnapping. Pritchett, known for amassing a large following on YouTube, with more than 1 million subscribers, has been accused of kidnapping two women in November, and what followed was a harrowing experience that included threats at gunpoint and being abandoned on a highway, as reported by KHOU.
The incident that led to Pritchett's charges began with a seemingly ordinary outing, as the two women joined him for a workout session, an ATV ride, and bowling. As per the Houston Chronicle, the situation escalated at the bowling alley where the group encountered individuals they had issues with in the past. This led to Pritchett leaving abruptly and later agreeing to return the women's belongings, which were left in his car.
Upon reuniting with Pritchett to retrieve their items, the women reported a stark change in his demeanor and claimed that he was driving erratically toward San Antonio while expressing paranoia about being followed. It was during this drive that Pritchett armed with a gold-colored handgun waved it out of the car's sunroof and even fired shots, as noted by the Houston Chronicle.
In a particularly chilling moment, Pritchett reportedly made a phone call to a contact saved as "Future Wife" in his phone and had a conversation about the "perfect opportunity" he had, while the women were in the vehicle, believing that they were in grave danger. He is said to have remarked, "I'm going to f— y'all and then kill y'all," according to court documents obtained by the Houston Chronicle. Later, he ordered the women out of the car on the side of I-10 near Sealy, told them, "This is your only opportunity," and proceeded to drive away.
After the incident, the women were left stranded until a passerby stopped to assist them, following which they contacted authorities. Pritchett, on the other hand, vanished, later announcing his departure from the US on social media. As of December 9, 2024, the FBI confirmed his travel to Doha Airport in Qatar. As law enforcement continues to investigate the case, questions about the repercussions for Pritchett's actions and the safety of online personalities' followers remain paramount in the public discourse.
