Residents of Elkridge should prepare for some upcoming construction work starting January 20th as Howard County gears up to extend public water services in the area. The project will entail installing a new 240-linear-foot section of eight-inch PVC water pipe along the 6200 block of Race Road, particularly targeting the delivery of services to 6264 Race Road. According to Howard County's official statement, the work is expected to wrap up by the end of the month, weather permitting.
With the project underway, motorists can expect changes to their commute, including closing the southbound lane on Race Road within the construction zone. The hours of operation for the project will be Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. During these times, flagging operations will be seen guiding traffic. Howard County has signaled drivers to anticipate adjustments and exercise caution through posted signs and the hands of the flaggers, who will be actively at work.
