According to LVMPD's official release, at around 9:42 a.m., Boulder City Police called LVMPD Communications to request assistance with a situation involving an off-duty LVMPD officer at the 700 block of 6th Street.
Initial findings suggest that the officer and his wife were alerted to a disturbance from a neighbor's backyard. The officer proceeded to intervene upon noticing a physical conflict between a man and a woman. He managed to escort the woman to safety, while his wife dialed 911. As the man followed and continued to approach despite repeated warnings, both the officer and his wife ultimately decided to discharge their firearms, resulting in the man being fatally wounded.
