In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, most city offices in Jacksonville, including City Hall, will be closed on Monday. Essential services, such as public safety departments, will remain operational. Non-urgent city services will resume the following day.
According to the City of Jacksonville announcement, the sanitation department will revise its schedule for the holiday. Garbage and recycling collection will be delayed: Monday’s pick-up will take place on Tuesday, and Tuesday’s collection will shift to Wednesday. Yard waste collection will not occur during the week of January 20.
City Hall will be closed on Monday, with services resuming on Tuesday. Public transit will operate on the Scarlet Holiday schedule.
Emergency services, including those from Jacksonville Police & Fire, will continue as usual. However, there will be no passport services at the Center for Public Safety on Monday.
