"City Hall and most public offices will open at 11AM tomorrow," the City of Jacksonville's announcement states. For those relying on city amenities, it's worth noting that while all Recreation Centers are also set to open at 10AM, previously planned programming and activities have been canceled. However, Jack Amyette, Adult Services, and the Chill Zone will still welcome the community from 10AM-5PM. As for city-spirit and festivity, the Snow Day event, originally set for Friday, January 24, is being postponed, giving residents a chance to play in the natural winter blanket that has cozied up Jacksonville's outdoors.
Unfortunately, those awaiting trash collection will have to hold on a tad longer — "due to dangerous conditions on residential roads and the County landfill closure, sanitation will not operate tomorrow," the City of Jacksonville reported. The necessity of safety takes precedence, and with conditions posing significant risks to those on the road, Jacksonville is urging patience as it temporially halts its sanitation services until the roads are safe for navigation again.
In terms of getting around, Jacksonville Transit will be modifying its schedule amidst the frosty weather. "Jacksonville Transit will begin operating 9:55 Thursday, Jan 23, weather permitting," relayed the bulletin.
