A tragic incident unfolded Saturday morning when a man, now identified as 20-year-old Justin Golden, was arrested after fatally striking an 8-month-old baby with a car. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office took to social media to briefly recount the circumstances leading to the young baby's death. According to the statement, Golden was involved in an argument with a female passenger while the baby was also present in the vehicle.
During the altercation, Golden made the decision to take the baby out of the car. In a distressing turn of events, the baby was hit by the vehicle and subsequently succumbed to injuries. The Sheriff's Office announced that Golden has been charged with aggravated manslaughter and vehicular homicide. He is currently being held at the Duval County jail. "Your #JSO Traffic Homicide detectives made a quick arrest in a tragedy, the death of an 8-month-old baby," said the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office in the social media post.
The Sheriff's Office mentioned that Golden was apprehended swiftly and is facing serious charges for his actions. They further assured the public that justice for the baby is a top priority. "We, with our partners at the State Attorney's Office, will stop at nothing to get justice for the baby," the Sheriff's Office emphasized in their social media statement.
