
The Metropolitan Police Department has apprehended a juvenile in connection with a recent robbery incident that occurred on the 1200 block of 15th Street, Northwest, according to a department press release. The robbery, which took place on Friday, January 17, 2025, involved a suspect approaching the victim around 3:53 p.m. and forcefully taking her possessions before fleeing the scene.
Following the robbery, a lookout for the suspect was circulated among Second District officers. Nearly a week later, on January 24, while on patrol, Second District's Crime Suppression Team noticed an individual who matched the suspect's description. Upon stopping the individual, it was confirmed that he was the same person involved in the January 17 incident, according to the MPD release.
The suspect, a 16-year-old male from Northeast DC, was subsequently arrested and charged with Robbery (Snatch). Details about the arrest and subsequent changes to the suspect's detainment status were not immediately available. The Metropolitan Police Department has not released the juvenile's name, due to age and privacy considerations.
