Kalahari Resorts in Wisconsin Dells Plans for Splashy 75,000-Sq-Ft Water Park Expansion by 2026Source: Google Street View

Expansion plans are making a splash in Wisconsin Dells as Kalahari Resorts & Conventions gears up to enhance the aquatic fun at its water park. FOX6 News reports that the resort has kicked off construction for a 75,000-square-foot addition set to premiere in fall 2026. Along with a retractable roof for open-air experiences, the expansion includes three new water slides that are expected to become the park's fresh main attractions.

Proposing to cement the resort's position as a family destination, CEO Todd Nelson expressed his excitement about the expansion, "Kalahari could not be more excited to announce this indoor waterpark expansion in the Wisconsin Dells, the Waterpark Capital of the World," he told Business Wire. He further explained how the expansion aims to provide something for every member of the family with a range of additions including a swim-up bar, spas, and more.

According to KFIZ, the inclusion of the retractable roof allows the indoor park to open up during the summer, giving guests a taste of the outdoors while remaining shaded from the elements. The resort's new features won't be limited to water slides; a Spa Pool, a Pool with zero-depth entry and tanning ledges, a Kiddie Slide Pool, and an adult swim-up bar are also part of the blueprint.

Guest satisfaction appears front-and-center with the expansion as Kalahari also plans to cater to comfort and convenience. Enhancements such as a 40-foot-wide big-screen TV display, additional food and beverage offerings, and an array of seating options, including new cabanas and whirlpool cabanas, promise a more luxurious waterpark experience. "With new slides, pools, a swim-up bar, spas, and more, there's something for every member of the family to enjoy," Nelson informed FOX6 News.

This development is just one wave in a series of renovations and amenities updates Kalahari has implemented in recent times. Alongside the waterpark's growth, the resort has welcomed 237 new rooms, rejuvenated Spa Kalahari, introduced a fresh splash pad and dry playground, transformed its lobby, and added two dining establishments: Sortino’s Italian Kitchen and Cinco Niños, a modern Mexican restaurant and tequila bar, as Business Wire highlights.
