Flag football enthusiasts and young athletes on Kaua‘i can look forward to the return of K-PAL's flag football season for 2025. The Kaua‘i Police Activities League has officially opened registration, providing a cost-free opportunity for kids from kindergarten to high school to participate in flag football. In a statement obtained by the County of Kauai, it's clear that K-PAL's foremost goal is fostering a substance-free environment while promoting personal growth through sport.
According to the county's annoucement, the league saw over 1,100 kids actively engage in its programs last year, including boxing, wrestling, and of course, flag football. Training sessions are scheduled to commence on May 1, with games kicking off in June at the auxiliary field next to Vidinha Stadium and the season culminating in mid-July. Registrations are open through April 1, and parents can sign their kids up at kauaipal.org.
K-PAL is seeking community members who wish to contribute beyond spectating. The organization is looking for volunteer coaches to help guide and mentor young athletes. Those with an interest in football and mentorship can visit the website and complete the Coach/Volunteer Form to get involved.
