Kauai residents, take note: The county's Office of Boards and Commissions will temporarily close starting Wednesday. The pause in activity, scheduled to last until January 31, is to accommodate construction work, according to a county announcement. This office, which plays a pivotal role in managing various civic groups, is set to reopen on February 3.
During the closure, the usual hub of activity at Suite 300 in the Pi‘ikoi Building will transfer over to the Mo‘ikeha Building Conference Room 2A/2B. This is where all meetings of the Boards and Commissions that were previously penciled in for their usual location are being redirected or scheduled afresh. A sense of normalcy in civic engagement is intended to be maintained, albeit from a new temporary locale.
Although the Office of Boards and Commissions will be physically closed, citizens can still reach out for assistance during the shutdown. A county spokesman directed the public to alternative contact methods, stating, "The public may call 808-241-4917, email staff directly, or email [email protected] for assistance during the closure." This information was shared in a recent county press release.
