Keller's Planning & Zoning Commission has announced two upcoming public hearings for its January 14 meeting, where community members will have the chance to weigh in on proposed developments that could reshape segments of Florence Road. The hearings are set to kick off at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Keller Town Hall, and those with a stake or interest in the future of these properties will want to mark their calendars.
The first hearing will deliberate on a request from Pentavia Custom Homes, represented by Curt Dubose, which seeks to alter the zoning classifications at 2257 Florence Road. Proposed is the reduction in required lot size from single-family 36,000 square-foot lots (SF-36) to smaller 20,000 square-foot lots (SF-20) for a tract of land spanning 2.79 acres. This lot, which sits at the intersection of Florence Road and Judge Bland Road and is known legally as Tract 6C, Abstract 1604 of the Josiah Walker Survey, is currently zoned SF-36, as per the City of Keller.
Concurrently, a Specific Use Permit (SUP) request for a new horse barn is on the table at 1753 Florence Road, a property roughly 1,905 feet southeast of the joint of Florence Road and Ottinger Road. This request, presented by Wes Barnhart, owner, and filed by MNC Builders, anticipates the construction of a barn covering an area of approximately 2,668 square feet, standing at an average height of 16 feet. It is to be located on a parcel of land approximately 2.94 acres in size, currently adopted by the SF-36 zoning.
