The Fayette County Sheriff's Office's Narcotics unit has reportedly made multiple arrests following a series of drug-related incidents that took place over three days. According to CBS Austin, the string of arrests began with a traffic stop on Jan. 22 on North Washington Street in La Grange, where a driver with a history of forgery was found with check forging equipment. The individual's identity has yet to be released.

On the same day, a separate traffic stop on East Guadalupe Street led to the captured of Andy Bennett, who was charged with possession of methamphetamine, the Sheriff's Office stated. As part of this operation on Jan. 23, other suspects were also detained, according to CBS Austin.

Moving deeper into this sweep, on Jan. 23, a significant amount of narcotics was found in the vehicle and on the occupants during a traffic stop conducted by the narcotics unit at the intersection of East Guadalupe Street and North Monroe Street, as per Sheriff Keith Korenek's statement obtained by FOX 7 Austin. Tanika Benford and Nathan Luhrs were arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence, while charges are being sought against a third occupant whose identity remains undisclosed.

The following day, local DPS troopers engaged in a chase on Highway 71 in West Point, where the driver, making an escape attempt, was finally blocked by the narcotics unit and subsequently detained. Despite attempts, any information regarding the driver's identity has been withheld thus far. Eddie Williams, connected to the previous incidents, was arrested at a residence associated with Benford and Luhrs on existing warrants for possession of a controlled substance and credit card abuse, with both sources reporting on these linked activities.

In total, six individuals were placed under arrest during this operation, as clarified in reports from both CBS Austin and FOX 7 Austin. These arrests underscore ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to address drug-related crimes within the region.
