
A serious crash early this morning prompted the closure of all southbound lanes on State Road 417 near Lake Nona. Authorities directed traffic to alternative routes to avoid the standstill conditions stretching back from the accident site. WESH reported that the incident occurred just before Boggy Creek Road around 9:30 a.m., shutting down the southbound lanes and on-ramp.
The Florida Highway Patrol, handling the crash, has advised drivers to detour using Boggy Creek Road. As an alternative, officials have guided southbound travelers to exit on Boggy Creek Road to circumnavigate the traffic snarl. According to a ClickOrlando report, the incident occurred near mile marker 16, near Wyndham Lakes Boulevard, and involved a 2017 truck with a semi-trailer.
Amid the road closure, one person was reportedly taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with injuries sustained in the crash. However, details on the severity of the injuries remain unspecified. The troopers' ongoing investigation is focused on uncovering the cause of the accident and ensuring timely updates are provided to the public and affected commuters.
