The suspect, now in custody, is 23-year-old Elizabeth Rodriguez of Las Vegas, who now faces hit-and-run related charges. The vehicle was located on Monday, the day following the grievous event.
In the immediacy of the accident, the woman was rushed to the UMC Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries, where, despite exhaustive efforts to save her, she was declared deceased. Though the identity of the victim remains pending, the incident marked the ninth traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction this year.
