The Lawrenceville Police Department has introduced K9 Rowan, a 7-month-old Goldendoodle, as a Community Wellness Dog. Known as "Ro," Rowan is trained to assist first responders and residents during incidents requiring support. This initiative aims to promote mental well-being in Gwinnett County, according to the City of Lawrenceville.
K9 Rowan has been introduced to strengthen community connections in Lawrenceville. He will make appearances at schools, events, and precincts. “We’re excited to introduce K9 Rowan as part of our dedicated mission of building a safer Lawrenceville through community engagement and professional police services,” said Chief John Mullin. The program was made possible through support from Tails of Hope and Coco’s Cupboard, Inc. K9 Rowan will enhance interactions between law enforcement and the community, as stated by the City of Lawrenceville.
The therapy dog, K9 Rowan, will help strengthen community bonds in Lawrenceville by attending local events. Chief Mullin emphasized, "This initiative is not just about building relationships but also about fostering a sense of trust, understanding, and care within the community." Residents can contact Officer Cole by email for more information, as reported by the City of Lawrenceville.
