Lewisville residents are invited to step outside their front doors and into a bigger community conversation at the Tri-City Neighborhood Summit. On February 15, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the Flower Mound Senior Center will become the hub for building stronger neighborhoods. In partnership with Coppell and Flower Mound, the event seeks to educate and inspire residents through multiple information sessions.

Luminaries like Lewisville Mayor TJ Gilmore, Flower Mound Mayor Cheryl Moore, and Coppell Mayor Wes Mays will grace the event, offering their wisdom on the intertwining of strong neighborhoods and vibrant cities. Special presentations by Megan Ginn & Ian Campbell from The Neighboring Movement are also on the agenda, with a spotlight on their "8 Front Doors Challenge" program, which aims to turn neighborhoods into tight-knit communities with simple, actionable steps.

Safety is also a key theme at the summit. Representatives from local police departments will conduct a session on neighborhood safety programs around Coppell, Flower Mound, and Lewisville. Attendees can expect to learn about a gamut of initiatives including Neighborhood Watch and the Citizen's Police Academy. "Our Police representatives will also share crime prevention and basic safety tips," according to the City of Lewisville website.

With the Texas heat on its way, a session on Tree Care 101 feels particularly timely. Experts will provide advice on tree selection, planting, care, and recognizable signs of disease, crucial for maintaining the area's greenery. The City promises attendees will walk away with valuable knowledge that extends beyond just the aesthetics of their yards. "Trees are the most valuable resources in your yard," Mayor Cheryl Moore attested in an article published by the City of Lewisville.

The event is free, though RSVPs are required. Those looking to participate will be treated not only to a morning of engagement and learning but also to complimentary T-shirts, coffee, and breakfast. And as a bonus, In-N-Out Burger will be serving up lunch. Interested parties are directed to visit the Tri-City Neighborhood Summit page on the Flower Mound government website to reserve their spot. This summit is part of the ongoing mission to achieve the Diverse and Thriving Neighborhoods vision detailed in the Lewisville 2025 plan, which is available for review online.
