A Southern California woman, identified as 34-year-old Krystal Gonzalez from Loma Linda, has been taken into custody in connection to a spate of vehicle burglaries across the Inland Empire, as reported by KTLA. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has linked her to at least 10 incidents but suggests the number could climb as further reports emerge.
By allegedly impersonating a warehouse employee to slip past security, Gonzalez gained access to the parking lots where she proceeded to burgle cars for valuables while the real employees were working, according to the SBSD Fontana Sheriff's Department. The thefts have plagued distribution centers throughout both San Bernardino and Riverside counties since December of last year.
During her arrest on Wednesday, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Gonzalez's residence. They uncovered a cache of more than 100 items presumed stolen, including wallets, purses, cell phones, sunglasses, and license plates. With Gonzalez also being on parole at the time of the arrest, she's currently being held without bail, as detailed by KTLA.
The Fontana Sheriff's Station has taken the helm of the investigation, with Deputy Padilla and Detective D. Pedersen leading the charge. Any information related to the case can be directed to the sheriff's department at 909-884-0156. As the sheriff’s staff served the warrant, Gonzalez is kept at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Central Detention Center, as per the SBSD Fontana Sheriff's Department.
