It was an ordinary night in Long Beach, save for the diligent work of local law enforcement. According to a recent police blotter update, no shootings or stabbings were reported throughout the previous evening. Behind the calm, however, was an operation that saw officers swiftly and effectively removing a potential threat off the streets.
In the early hours of Monday, Long Beach Police Department officers were summoned to a scene that could have easily spiraled out of control, a pedestrian brandishing a gun near the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and the 710 Freeway though the potential for chaos was quelled with no incident arising from the stop. The response was prompt, and by 5:25 a.m., the officers had not only contained any possible danger but had also apprehended a suspect and confiscated a firearm.
While details regarding the identity of the suspect remain under wraps, the LBPD has confirmed that an arrest was made and the investigation into the incident continues.
