Lottery fever continues to grip the Lone Star State, with two Texas residents winning million-dollar prizes and jackpots across various games swelling to eye-popping figures. A Seguin resident claimed a cool million from a scratch-off game called Million Dollar Loteria, purchasing their ticket at Stripes in New Braunfels, as reported by Express News. In Powerball and Mega Millions draws, lucky tickets were sold in Bexar County and Arlington, respectively, bringing massive winnings to undisclosed ticket-holders.
Notably, a GASGO Markets establishment in Helotes sold a Powerball ticket worth $1 million, acquired by a player who narrowly missed doubling their prize by opting out of the Power Play option. According to a KICKS 105 article, Saturday's Powerball drawing accumulated to a $46 million jackpot, now primed to increase to $56 million in light of no participants matching all six numbers. The Mega Millions contestant, however, did maximize their earnings, using 'Megaply' to bolster their $1 million win to $2 million, thanks to a fortuitous purchase at Ballpark Beverage in Arlington.
With the lottery pots growing, the estimated jackpot for Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing is anticipated to be $44 million. Meanwhile, Monday's Powerball drawing beckons with an estimated $56 million prize. Lotto Texas isn't lagging behind either, boasting a current jackpot of $73.5 million for Monday's drawing, following a dry spell since last June's $29 million payout.
