Yesterday afternoon, a pedestrian accident could have had a far worse outcome if not for a mixture of luck and a quick response from local emergency services. At about 12:30 p.m., a woman and the child she was holding were struck by a vehicle as they crossed the intersection of Centre and Morewood Avenue in Pittsburgh.
According to a report from the City of Pittsburgh's official website, the incident resulted in the adult female sustaining minor injuries while the child appeared to be unharmed. Despite her initial refusal of medical attention, both were transported to the hospital as a precaution.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. Currently, there are no charges against the driver.
