An individual is on the mend after a shooting incident in Eastpointe, Michigan, where a man allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend and later fired at police officers. As reported by FOX 2 Detroit, the shooting took place last Friday around 3:30 p.m. on the 15000 block of 9 Mile. Police, discovering the victim with a gunshot wound to the chest, transported him to a local hospital with expectations of a full recovery.
To elude identification, wearing a wig, pink tight pants, a pink shirt, and a black jacket, the suspect approached the victim and engaged in a brief conversation. "After a brief conversation, the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired a single shot, striking the victim in the chest," detailed WWJ Newsradio. The suspect then fled on foot, avoiding security cameras in the vicinity.
The Eastpointe Police Department identified the suspect with the help of their Detective Bureau and Special Investigations Unit, leading them to execute a search warrant at a residence in Detroit. CBS Detroit mentions, "Officers executing the search warrant were trying to gain entry through the front of the house when the male allegedly fired a shot at them through the front door." Thankfully, no officers were hit by the gunfire.
