A robbery that took place in the Northwest has led to the arrest of a 31-year-old man, as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department. The incident unfolded last Friday, causing distress for a victim who was inside an establishment on the 5900 block of Georgia Avenue, Northwest.
Reportedly, the situation escalated when the assailant, identified as Jerson Flores of no fixed address, aggressively solicited money from the victim. Upon refusal, the suspect assaulted the victim, appropriated his belongings, and subsequently absconded. The aftermath of the skirmish necessitated medical attention, with DC Fire and EMS transporting the victim to a hospital for care of non-life-threatening injuries.
The breakthrough in the case came after Fourth District officers received a detailed description of the suspect. Their efforts led to the apprehension of Flores last Saturday. The suspect now faces charges for his alleged involvement in the robbery with force and violence, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
