The Memphis Police Department reported the aggravated assault occurred around 8:00 p.m. on January 5, when an exchange of heated words between two armed individuals escalated outside the fast-food outlet.
According to the police report published on the Memphis Police Department est.1827 Facebook page, after the verbal spat, the suspect discharged a firearm into the victim's abdomen. As a result, gunfire was exchanged before the suspect in the gray hoodie and braided hair fled the scene in a blue suspected Nissan sedan. The victim was subsequently transported to hospital in critical condition.
Memphis Police are actively seeking information on the assailant who is described as male, wearing a gray hoodie, dark pants, and black shoes with distinctive yellow shoe strings. Police urge anyone who could provide insight into the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH or submit a tip online where anonymity and a possible cash reward are assured for information leading to an arrest. The victim's name has not yet been released as the investigation continues.
