
Tragedy struck in the Heights area of Houston as a man was killed after being struck by a train near Yale Street, authorities confirmed. Click2Houston reported that the Houston Police received a call at 5:43 p.m. and upon their arrival at the intersection of Yale Street and Koehler Street, they discovered the man who had been fatally hit.
According to Houston Police, the man was believed to be homeless and was in his 50s. He had been waiting in between two trains, which were traveling in opposite directions when the incident occurred. Investigators believe that the train involved in the incident operates under Canadian Pacific Kansas City.
As the case remains under active investigation, Eyewitness News has urged drivers to avoid the area and take alternate routes following the fatal event. Details are still being uncovered, as the police work to understand the moments leading to the tragedy.
