East Pittsburgh became the focal point of an ongoing investigation after a man was discovered with a gunshot wound to the chest. The incident unfolded last night in the Prospect Terrace Housing Complex, as reported by CBS Pittsburgh. Allegheny County Police were alerted to the shooting just after 8 p.m. Still, initial responders from the Housing Authority Police did not find a victim at the scene, despite evidence suggesting a shooting had taken place.
Mere moments later, according to information from WPXI, the Duquesne Police were summoned to a location on Viola Street, where the man was found shot in the chest. Despite his injuries, he was conscious, alert, and subsequently stabilized at an area hospital.
Allegheny County Police detectives are leading the investigation and are asking the community for help in understanding how the man was injured.
