
Seattle's First Hill neighborhood was the scene of an early morning shooting that has left a 37-year-old man in serious condition. The incident occurred at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Spring Street, where Seattle Police detectives are currently investigating the details surrounding the violent altercation.
Police were alerted at around 2:20 a.m. on Friday when a call came through to dispatch about gunfire within the building. Arriving, officers discovered the wounded man in the stairwell, struggling with a bullet lodged in his hip area. The officers provided first aid until paramedics from Seattle Fire Department arrived and transported him to Harborview Medical Center.
According to the SPD Blotter report, it was a passerby who came upon the victim on the 13th floor of the building, immediately realizing the urgency and dialing 911. As of now, the sequence of events that led to the shooting has not been made clear.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and the Seattle Police Gun Violence Reduction Unit is taking the lead on this case.
