Yesterday afternoon, the calm of a Northwest Baltimore neighborhood was pierced by gunshots that led an injured 28-year-old man to seek refuge in a local school. Authorities were promptly contacted and arrived on the scene at the 3900 block of Maine Avenue, where they found the victim suffering from what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
According to a media advisory by the Baltimore Police Department, the incident occurred approximately at 12:47 p.m. when Northwest District patrol officers rushed to respond to the emergency call. Medics were quick to transfer the wounded man to an area hospital to hopefully begin to recover.
The police have not yet named any suspects, and the shooting's motive remains a mystery as of the latest reports. The preliminary investigation suggests that the victim was actually shot in the 3500 block of Garrison Boulevard and then desperately fled to the school on Maine Avenue for help.
Northwest District detectives actively conduct in-depth investigations and encourage anyone with information to come forward.
