Gun violence disrupted Tampa just after midday when police responded to a shooting near the intersection of N. O’Brien St. and W. Spruce St.
According to the Tampa Police Department release, two men were involved in an argument that escalated into a shooting. The suspect, who is still at large, is described as an adult black male with long dreadlocks, wearing a black beanie and jacket. His pants color is unknown, and he was carrying a roller bag.
The victim, a Hispanic male in his 40s, suffered an abdominal gunshot wound and was transported to a nearby hospital. He remains in serious condition while receiving treatment. Although the shooting occurred near Tampa International Airport, it took place off airport grounds, and airport police assisted with the initial response and traffic management.
