As the weekend beckons, nostalgic patrons and arcade enthusiasts are flocking to the iconic Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum in Farmington Hills for one final joystick jaunt before the venue moves to a new, roomier location. After a storied stay since 1980, Marvin's, a veritable trove of arcade games spanning a century and an eclectic assortment of memorabilia, will say goodbye to its current abode tomorrow, according to WWJ Newsradio.

Owner Jeremy Yagoda announced that the museum's destination will be none other than West Bloomfield Township's Orchard Mall, confirming the museum's last day in its original Farmington Hills spot is set for tomorrow. The move was spurred by a redevelopment plan at Hunter’s Square Shopping Center. Yagoda, in a hopeful tone, told WWJ Newsradio last month, "When life hands you lemons, just make lemonade. Make the best out of what you’re given."

Meanwhile, The Detroit News adds that the new Orchard Mall location will not only be a milestone move but also a significant expansion – approximately threefold the size of its current confines, paving the way for more sprawling displays and private party rooms. The museum's adieu to Farmington Hills will be recorded as a documentary for posterity, with Yagoda inviting the community to contribute their memories this last weekend.

In the interim before the spring reopening, Yagoda encourages interested followers to keep an eye on Marvin’s Facebook page for updates about the museum's progress. "Sad to leave Farmington Hills as the whole city has been marvelous but this was the best location we found," Yagoda shared on the museum's Facebook in early December, as detailed by The Oakland Press.
