While many were celebrating the arrival of 2025, the Marysville Police Department, in partnership with the Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), was on patrol. According to a social media post from the department, officers were issuing citations and making arrests to ensure public safety during a time known for increased festive activity.
During this deployment, officers issued 14 citations and made five arrests. One individual was arrested for attempting to drive under the influence, and a loaded, concealed firearm was discovered in their vehicle. "During this deployment, 14 citations were issued, and 5 arrests were made," the department's statement read.
The Marysville Police Department also confiscated several illegal fireworks. These actions are part of ongoing efforts to enforce safety regulations and address issues such as DUI and illegal firework possession, both during the holidays and as part of routine enforcement.
