As Mayor Adams has emphasized, the removal of these guns from circulation is closely linked with ensuring the city's prosperity. Among the seized weaponry, 1,400 such ghost guns were confiscated. "These ghost guns are untraceable. Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch joined the Mayor in celebrating the decrease in gun-related violence, citing a 42 percent drop in shootings and attributing part of this success to the proactive seizure of firearms.
