Case expressed pride in the growth and transformation of Eden Prairie from its rural roots in 1963 to a bustling suburban enclave, citing the city's strong economic footing and its low tax rates within the Twin Cities metro. Over six decades of policy and development have cultivated a "well-designed City," a sentiment echoed in community surveys.
In a message to the community, Mayor Ron Case celebrated the city's robust infrastructure and public safety, to notably mention the mingling of residential and commercial spaces, all carefully balanced by the preservation of open spaces and park development. "Our residents, consistently rate City services — from public safety and infrastructure to community engagement — second to none in our biennial Quality of Life surveys, and many of you enjoy living in Eden Prairie so much you plan on living out your lives here," he stated, according to the official Eden Prairie website.
However, Mayor Case did not overlook the present challenges, acknowledging issues like social inequity and affordable housing deficit that still beset the city. His address addressed the need to adapt to a changing climate and the stress on aging infrastructure, while also striving to maintain the community's cherished standard of living without imposing onerous tax hikes.
Linking his own life to the fabric of the city, Mayor Case shared his personal commitment to the community, recounting over three decades of residence in a treasured family farmhouse. "My wife, Kathie, and I have lived in our 1874 farmhouse — where we raised our four children who all graduated from Eden Prairie Schools — for over 36 years, and we intend to stay in this house that has become our family’s forever home as long as we’re able," he stated, as reported on the city’s news section.
The future, in Mayor Case's view, holds a bright promise for Eden Prairie. He underscored his optimism and enthusiasm for what's to come and extended an open invitation to the community to stay actively engaged with local governance.
