A business robbery at a Walgreens in Memphis has drawn the attention of local authorities after two suspects reportedly raided the establishment in the early hours of New Year's Day. According to a social media post by the Memphis Police Department, officers were dispatched to the scene at 3670 Riverdale Road following reports of the incident, which unfolded at approximately 4:13 a.m.
The narrative provided by the police outlines that two male suspects, identified as African American and in their 20s, engaged in a coordinated theft, one of them armed, who coerced money from a cashier while his accomplice stood watch. The first suspect, alleged to have brandished a handgun, compelled an employee to surrender the contents of the cash register, grabbing the money before making a rushed departure under the prompt of his accomplice; both fled eastbound on Winchester Road, the Memphis Police Department detailed.
Descriptions of the individuals involved have been publicized, with the armed suspect estimated to be between 5'6" and 5'8" with a thin build, donning a black face mask, hoodie, t-shirt, pants, and contrasting black and white tennis shoes. At the same time, his partner has been described as having a medium build, roughly 5'10" in height, and masked but with a blue jacket, gray sweatpants, and black footwear.
