Residents and travelers along Meridian Road could see future improvements in connectivity and travel options, thanks to a new study underway by the Maricopa Association of Governments. Partnering with the cities of Apache Junction and Mesa, as well as with Maricopa and Pinal counties, the study is focusing on the stretch of road from SR 24 to Superstition Boulevard, with a public open house scheduled for Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 5:30 – 7:00 PM at the Desert Ridge Junior High School Cafeteria located at 10211 E Madero Avenue in Mesa, AZ.
The initiative aims to create solutions for future transportation needs, improving the experience for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. It focuses on planning for both the present and the future. According to the official announcement, community members who can’t attend the open house are encouraged to visit the study’s website to register for email updates, complete the survey, and share feedback through an interactive comment map, helping shape Meridian Road’s future.
The event provides a space for people to share ideas and work together toward practical progress, aiming to make Meridian Road not just a route but a community connection. Those participating online can also contribute by sharing their concerns and suggestions based on their experiences along the road.
