The Metropolitan Police Department has issued a call for assistance to the public in identifying suspects connected to a recent theft that occurred in Southeast D.C. According to a release from the police department, the theft took place on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, with suspects allegedly breaking into a cash register at an establishment on the 1100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast, around 12:30 p.m.
Authorities were quick to respond to the incident, but the suspects had already fled the scene. Efforts to swiftly bring the perpetrators to justice have led the police to release surveillance camera images of the individuals believed to be responsible. The photos are intended to jog public awareness and hopefully to secure leads that can help to conclusively identify the suspects involved.
Community members who recognize the suspects or possess any knowledge relevant to the case are urged to aid the investigation, though they have been cautioned not to approach or take action themselves. Instead, tips can be anonymously submitted by calling the MPD at (202) 727-9099 or by texting the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The MPD is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of those responsible, showing how seriously they are treating the crime.
