Tensions were high in a Minneapolis neighborhood recently when a man, under the influence, decided to point a gun at a family member and demand they vacate his premises. This potentially deadly episode came to a swift resolution thanks to the efforts of the Third Precinct officers of the Minneapolis Police Department. The quick response by law enforcement resulted in the arrest of the individual without further incident, preventing what could have escalated into a violent confrontation.
In a statement released by the Minneapolis Police Department on their official Facebook page, officers discovered that the man, who has a history of conviction, was in illegal possession of firearms. During subsequent investigations and the execution of a search warrant, law enforcement officers managed to secure four firearms from the home.
The Minneapolis Police Department publicly applauded their officers for "outstanding work in defusing a dangerous situation, keeping our community safe, and getting illegal guns off the street."
