Authorities in St. Johns County have apprehended a Mississippi man on felony indecent exposure charges. According to a social media post by the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office (SJSO), 23-year-old Khari Coleman was arrested by SJSO Special Victims Unit detectives yesterday, following an investigation into incidents that occurred earlier that month.
On January 2, Coleman allegedly exposed himself to female housekeeping employees at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa in Ponte Vedra, Florida. Responding to a complaint, deputies uncovered evidence of two separate episodes involving Coleman on the same date. Prior to this arrest, with assistance from the Oxford Mississippi Police Department, Coleman had already been in the law's sights for a similar incident in Mississippi in 2023, where he faced charges involving five victims.
A nationwide arrest warrant facilitated Coleman's capture in Mississippi, with local law enforcement lending a hand. The arrest was not his first brush with the law concerning such conduct. As reported by the SJSO, "Coleman was arrested in 2023 for an "indecent exposure" incident in Mississippi involving (5) victims."
The investigative process included conducting multiple interviews and compiling further evidence. Detectives from the SJSO also consulted with prosecutors before obtaining the warrant for Coleman's arrest.
