Reports of discarded Amazon packages in a Montgomery neighborhood have been emerging, raising concerns among residents who are discovering these deliveries far from their intended destinations. According to KPRC 2's Gage Goulding, people residing in the Fairwater subdivision have witnessed a delivery driver parking at irregular hours and leaving behind unattended packages in a vacant lot.
This incident is part of an ongoing problem that locals have been experiencing for months. Trinity Nieto from the neighborhood commented on finding two boxes that did not belong to anyone in her subdivision, noting, "She put on her delivery driver hat and personally delivered the packages," as reported by KPRC 2. However, she is aware that this is not a sustainable solution.
Similarly, FOX 26 reported another incident in which the Nieto family discovered packages, including one that contained a gift for a newborn, which they personally delivered to the rightful recipient in Walden. Joshua Nieto, a former postal worker, expressed his discontent despite understanding the pressures faced by delivery drivers, stating, "I get the angst, but to dump packages somewhere… that’s unfortunate."
Amazon has confirmed that they are taking these allegations seriously and are coordinating with law enforcement to investigate the matter. As packages continue to surface in the area, residents are encouraged to report any such findings to the carrier. An Amazon spokesperson told FOX 26 that local police have also been alerted and are looking into potential leads in an effort to curtail further dumping and ensure delivery drivers comply with their obligations.
