A tragic accident in Southwest Las Vegas has left one motorcyclist dead after a series of collisions involving multiple vehicles. News3LV reported that the incident occurred around 7:06 p.m. near Blue Diamond Road and Fort Apache Road, where two motorcyclists were struck by vehicles.
Witnesses told police that the motorcyclists were heading east on Blue Diamond Road when, crashing into a vehicle's rear end that was traveling in the same direction, one of the riders was. Subsequently, the motorcyclist who hit the vehicle died at the scene of the crash. Following the accident, authorities closed Blue Diamond Road from Hualapai Way to SR-159 to conduct an investigation, which is expected to last several hours.
Further details were provided by FOX5 Vegas, indicating that the incident involved a 2023 BMW K 1600 motorcycle and a 2003 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class. The motorcycle's impact on the Mercedes-Benz caused the rider to be ejected into the road, where a 2004 Ford Explorer struck him again.
As a result of the crash, which also caused minor injuries to other drivers, transported to nearby hospitals they were. "The motorcyclist’s death marked the 14th traffic-related death in the LVMPD jurisdiction," police highlighted in a release, according to FOX5 Vegas. The identity of the deceased and the specifics of the ongoing investigation have not been released.
