
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is currently conducting investigations on a homicide that took place in Northeast Washington, D.C. According to Metropolitan Police Department officials, on the evening of Monday, a 27-year-old man was found shot in the 4500 block of Quarles Street, Northeast.
Law enforcement officers received a call about the incident at approximately 6:38 p.m. and upon arrival discovered the victim, identified as Landen Mayo, a resident of Southeast D.C., in a grave state, conscious, and breathing but with multiple gunshot wounds. Although he was quickly provided medical attention by D.C. Fire and EMS and transported to a nearby hospital, Mayo succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead.
The MPD has issued a public statement, urging anyone with information about the shooting to step forward. As detailed in a report by Metropolitan Police District of Columbia, they are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for tips that lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this violent act.
