
The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking public help to identify a suspect in a recent robbery in Southwest Washington, D.C. According to the official press release, the incident occurred on January 15, when a suspect allegedly approached a victim near the 900 block of 4th Street, Southwest, demanding their belongings.
Despite taking place earlier in the month, authorities are reaching out now with fresh evidence. A surveillance camera in the vicinity captured clear images of the suspect. This new lead is being shared with the community in hopes that someone can provide information. It was at approximately 5:05 p.m. that the suspect took the victim's property and fled, leaving the individual in distress and the police on alert.
The MPD has publicized an image of the suspected individual, urging anyone with knowledge of the robbery or the suspect to make contact using the designated tip lines. Tips can be provided at (202) 727-9099 or sent via text to the MPD's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. To encourage community cooperation, there is an offered reward of up to $1,000 for details leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for violent crimes within the district.
Authorities caution that those with information regarding the suspect or the vehicle seen in the surveillance should refrain from taking any direct action. Concerned citizens are instead advised to report any pertinent details to the police.
